Practising Gratitude; an exercise…

Creating a Gratitude practice where we get into the habit of actively noticing and acknowledging what we are grateful for, is a fantastic way to physically re wire our brains to think more positively.

Re connecting those neural pathways, helping to move us away from negative thought patterns and into a more positive perspective, can have a deep impact on our lives. Increasing our own happiness so that we go on to spread love and joy to those around us.

There are innumerable physical and mental benefits to implementing a gratitude practice. Some things you can expect are: a deeper sense of presence - living in the moment, more joy, meaning and fulfilment, more connected and fulfilling relationships, increased productivity and a myriad of physical health benefits.

Here is a simple template which you can print out and use to help get you started with your gratitude practice. You can complete this daily, weekly or as often as you feel necessary, but remember the key to feeling the benefits lies in the power of repetition.

Take your time, don’t put pressure on yourself and nothing is too small or too large to be grateful for or show appreciation for. That morning cup of tea in bed, a strangers passing smile or a wonderful affirmation reminder sent from a friend. Write it down and if you can, try and practice this daily.

If you’d like to learn more about Gratitude and effective ways to build it in to your life, either daily or as often as you can; then head over to our Conversations section for a blog post on all things thankfulness; it’s a fantastic complimentary article which sits alongside our download and your worksheet.
